A vision to make our neighboring school and surrounding streets cleaner and brighter!

VOLUNTEER WITH US!

Join us for a day to beautify the Chisholm playground and its surrounding blocks! We'll be cleaning up the blocks around Shirley Chisholm (Tyler) Elementary School, and we need your help to make it happen.

This is a chance for our community to come together and keep our neighborhood clean, safe, and healthy. Come out, lend a hand, and reconnect with staff, families, and students you haven't seen in a while. Let's make our community clean-up event the best it can be! Your support is invaluable in creating a brighter environment for everyone.

OUR INITIATIVE AND VISION

We are passionate about extending our contribution to the surrounding environment consisting of the communities in which our young soccer players and their families reside. We are grateful to our parents and young soccer players for choosing DC Way and most importantly, for trusting in us. As an expression of our gratitude, we are part of an environmental project to improve the surrounding areas in which our exemplary soccer players live and enhance their environmental quality of life.

Our Goal

DC Way wants to grow with the community and with the children in the community. To thank the parents for their selection and trust, through this environmental initiative, we hope that the cleanliness of the streets surrounding our primary camp location will be improved, a clean community will be present, and a good environment for children to grow in will be maintained. DC Way is not only a child's partner in developing soccer and cognitive skills but also a proud supporter of a child’s healthy growth and happiness.

Partnership with the Mayor’s Office of the Clean City DC

DC Way is in the process of adopting four blocks in the DC Capitol Hill area surrounding Shirley Chisholm (Tyler) Elementary School, one of our primary locations for running One Day Camps and Summer Soccer Camps.

We have selected four blocks that are adjacent to each other for easiness of cleaning. We will be responsible for cleaning all 4 blocks on a quarterly basis.

As a part of generating this positive relationship with the surrounding community, we are committed to providing opportunities for our wonderful young campers, families, friends, and neighbors to make lasting connections with our organization while actively engaging in keeping our community clean, safe, and healthy. We need your help and support to successfully make these quarterly community clean-up events the best they can be! Your participation as a volunteer will not only be an enjoyable experience but will most importantly, help improve the quality of life for our young soccer campers.

What Do Our Volunteers Do

At our quarterly community clean-up events, there will be different volunteer assignments, each collectively meeting the goal of keeping our selected community blocks clean. Volunteers will help guide and lead the clean-up event as well as participate in the clean-up activity.
