DC Way is a Capitol Hill-based, award-winning recreational soccer club that was created with a clear mission and aligned core values in order to teach more than just the fundamentals of soccer while having an absolute blast. Founded in 2013, we have more than a decade of experience sharing our love of sports with children.
Our mission is to foster a sense of community, build confidence, and encourage teamwork, all while ensuring that every player enjoys their time on and off the field. At DC Way, we believe that soccer is more than just a game—it’s a way to inspire growth and create lasting memories.
One Day Camp: 4 years old and older
After-School Programs: 4 to 8 years old
Private Lessons: 4 years old and older
Futsal Skills Clinics: 5 to 10 years old
Goalkeeping School: 7 to 15 years old
At DC Way, we’re dedicated to helping your child grow both as a soccer player and as an individual. Whether your child is just starting or already has experience, each class is designed to introduce new skills, from soccer fundamentals like passing, receiving, and small-sided games to important life lessons.
We focus not only on physical development but also on mental skills—helping your child build emotional intelligence, responsibility, self-confidence, and healthy habits through the game. Every session is a chance for your child to improve, have fun, and gain new skills that will serve them both on and off the field.
At DC Way, we focus on developing the whole child—physically, mentally, technically, and socially—through the game of soccer.
Our holistic approach ensures that your child not only grows as an athlete but also develops into a confident, well-rounded individual.
Players 6 years or older are encouraged to wear shin guards and soccer cleats to training. Players younger than 6 years should wear tennis or athletic shoes (cleats are not needed). We encourage all participants to bring plenty of water. Camp participants should also bring lunch and snacks.
At DC Way, we welcome players of all skill levels! Whether your child is just starting their soccer journey or has been playing for years, we have a program that’s the perfect fit for them.
Our Camps, Kids Academy, After-School Programs, and Private Lessons are designed to support beginners, intermediate players, and those looking to improve at their own pace. These programs focus on building a strong foundation and boosting confidence on and off the field.
For players who are ready to challenge themselves and take their skills to the next level, we recommend our Skills Clinics, Goalkeeping School, and the Capitol Hill League. These programs offer more specialized training, helping players develop advanced techniques, tactical understanding, and the opportunity to compete in a supportive and structured environment.
No matter where your child is on their soccer journey, we are here to guide them and help them grow!
Our Founder and Program Director, Denis Chekuristov, brings a deep-rooted passion for soccer to every program at DC Way. With a National Soccer Coaching License for ages 8-12 and a Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma, Denis is highly qualified and dedicated to nurturing young players.
Believing in the power of continuous self-development, he regularly attends seminars to stay at the forefront of coaching techniques, ensuring the best experience for each player.
Denis’ dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed—he was proudly named Best Sports Coach in both 2016 and 2017 by Washington City Paper!
