Grab your sneakers, bring the kids, and join us for a feel-good Sunday morning of connection, teamwork, and giving back to the neighborhood we love on June 22nd. Our Clean City the DC Way event is all about community pride! We’ll roll up our sleeves, turn up the music, and help make our local spaces brighter and better together.
Whether you’re picking up litter, catching up with familiar faces, or simply showing your support, this event is a chance to be part of something meaningful and fun for the whole family.
We’ll provide the gloves, bags, and good vibes — you bring your energy, smiles, and maybe a friend or two!
Bonus: For even more family fun, don’t miss our Soccer For All event the weekend before on Sunday, June 15 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Stuart-Hobson Middle School. It’s a celebration of community, soccer, and Father’s Day, complete with games, art stations, prizes, and joyful moments for all ages.
Let’s come together to make a difference, connect with one another, and show what community looks like the DC Way!
At DC Way, we believe that soccer goes beyond the field — it’s about building strong, healthy communities where children and families can thrive. We’re proud to be part of neighborhoods filled with energy, culture, and care, and we’re committed to giving back to the places that support our young players.
Our families trust us with their children’s growth, and we’re deeply grateful for that. As a way to give back, we’ve launched a community clean-up initiative to help beautify and uplift the areas where our players live, play, and go to school.
We want to grow with our community, not just as a soccer club, but as neighbors, mentors, and supporters of positive change. Through our clean-up events and volunteer efforts, we’re helping create cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environments for all families.
This initiative is about more than picking up litter — it’s about showing our children what it means to care for their surroundings, take pride in where they live, and come together for something bigger. Because at DC Way, we’re not just developing soccer skills, we’re nurturing confident, compassionate young people.

DC Way is in the process of adopting four blocks in the DC Capitol Hill area surrounding Shirley Chisholm Elementary School, one of our primary locations for running One Day Camps and Summer Soccer Camps.
We have selected four blocks that are adjacent to each other for easiness of cleaning. We will be responsible for cleaning all 4 blocks on a quarterly basis.

At DC Way, we believe building strong communities starts with showing up together. Our clean-up events are more than just neighborhood projects; they’re a chance for families, friends, and neighbors to connect, give back, and set a positive example for our young players.
We invite you to be part of this movement — not just as a volunteer, but as a valued member of the DC Way family. Your support helps us create cleaner, safer spaces where children can grow, play, and feel proud of the community they’re part of. When you give a little of your time, you help build something much bigger.
Our volunteers play a key role in making each clean-up day a success. Whether you’re handing out supplies, guiding families to their zones, or jumping in to help clear litter, every contribution counts.
You’ll be part of a friendly team working toward one shared goal: helping our neighborhoods shine. It’s a fun, feel-good way to make an impact and a great chance to meet new people while doing something meaningful for the community we all care about.
