Travel Season Plan

TIME COMMITMENT EXPECTATIONS

Practice 12 weeks twice a week plus some Saturdays.

Spring League Play (league to be selected), generally 8 games mostly on Sundays, sometimes on Saturdays. Usually one game per weekend, but not unusual to have some weekends with 2 games.

2 tournaments (one per season, one mid or post season)


Fall 2019 Plan

(late Aug - mid Nov)

Practice 12 weeks twice a week plus some Saturdays.

Not playing in a Fall league.

First weeknight practice: Teams train together. Second weeknight practice: Teams train separately. Saturdays: Teams train all together.

Approximately 27 training sessions in total.

2 - 4 friendlies, usually on Saturdays.

2 tournaments

Some Saturday sessions will be dedicated to festivals and team bonding to build chemistry.

Training schedule to include:

  • Ball control

  • 1v1 moves

  • Goalkeeping

  • 11+ and agility training with a special coach

  • Creativity and “street soccer”

  • Juggling and soccer tennis

  • Defending principles

  • Trapping

  • Shooting

  • Finishing

  • Group plays (3v… games)


Winter 2019 plan

(Dec - late Feb)

Practice 12 weeks once a week plus some Saturdays.

Teams practice together.

Training schedule to include:

  • A variety of individual footwork skills and moves

  • Shooting and finishing

  • Defending

  • Soccer wrestling

  • Physical components, including 11+ and agility

  • More of group plays, larger sided games, preparation for league play


Spring 2020 plan

(mid March - mid June)

Practice 12 weeks twice a week plus some Saturdays.

Some Saturday sessions will be dedicated to festivals and team bonding to build chemistry.

Will participate in a Spring League (league to be determined)
