DC WAY ACADEMY (TRAVEL TEAM)

Director

DC Way Academy is currently seeking to fill the position of Director. This position is responsible for leading efforts to achieve growth and development of the club. This position will also provide coaches with the tools to technically develop players and teams. Director will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee development and growth of club program

  • Recruit, develop, and evaluate coaching staff

  • Develop training schedule for each team and coordinate with Head Coach, Field Coordinator, and Team Manager

  • Oversee management of each team in the club

  • Approve tournament and league schedules

  • Assist in development of annual club budget in coordination with Treasurer

  • Communicate daily with Chief Executive Officer and Director of Operations

  • Serve as DC Way Academy representative

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Prior directing or sport programming experience

  • Prior travel/recreational soccer experience

  • Prior coaching experience, preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Word

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

Head Coach

DC Way Academy is currently seeking a Head Coach. This position is responsible for leading and coaching the DC Way Academy team to ensure the development and safety of players. Head Coach will report to the Program Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop training curriculum and plan for practices in coordination with Program Director

  • Run all team practices, games, festivals, and bonding activities with Assistant Coach

  • Provide game analysis to enhance team play

  • Provide personal evaluation to players at the end of the season

  • Acts as ambassador of DC Way Academy

  • Be a positive role model and offer clear and continual feedback to players, parents, and coaches

  • Perform other tasks assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have prior coaching experience

  • Prior travel/recreational soccer experience

  • Knowledge on the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport

  • Be able to attend all most all practices, games, and tournaments

  • Current soccer coaching license

  • Can handle a group of 10 or more children

Administrator

DC Way Academy is currently seeking an Administrator. This position is responsible for developing and supporting the operational and strategic aspects of DC Way Academy travel program. This position will report to Program Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collect and maintain file of player’s proof of age, medical release form, and other records

  • Register team on Stack Sports

  • Ensure coaches and assistant coaches register on Stack Sports and complete the Concussion Training Course and Sexual Abuse Prevention and Training Awareness and upload to Stack Sports

  • Ensure parents register players on Stack Sports

  • Answer parent’s administrative questions regarding forms and Stack Sports via email

  • Coordinate with Treasurer to ensure MSYSA membership fees are paid on a timely basis

  • Lead and manage applications for leagues and tournaments

  • Perform other tasks assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Word

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Prior travel/recreational soccer experience, preferred

TEAM MANAGER

DC Way Academy is currently seeking a Team Manager. This position is responsible for overall program management and quality of DC Way Academy teams. This position will report to the Head Coach and Program Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedule practices and games in coordination with the Head Coach and Field Coordinator

  • Handles communication with parents regarding scheduling updates via email

  • Continuously implement strategies to increase enrollment and attendance of team practices, festivals, and bonding activities

  • Identify and execute strategic event opportunities for all programs

  • Coordinate with Administrator to ensure coaches and assistant coaches complete the Concussion Training Course and Sexual Abuse Prevention and Training Awareness and upload to Stack Sports

  • Coordinate with Administrator to ensure parents register players on Stack Sports

  • Perform other tasks assigned

Assistant Coach

DC Way Academy is currently seeking an Assistant Coach. This position is responsible for assisting the DC Way Academy team with practice and game duties. This position will report to the Head Coach.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Head Coach with instructing players in rules, regulations, equipment & techniques of sport

  • Assists with supervising athletes during games and practice

  • Helps determine game strategy

  • Distributes equipment as directed by Head Coach in conjunction with Equipment Manager

  • Be positive role model and provide continuous feedback to players and parents

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interact with field owners/stakeholders for sports field scheduling, tournament play, user conflicts, etc.

  • Maintain relationships with other sports field users

  • Secure all location contracts and park permits

  • Oversee practice scheduling in coordination with Team Manager and Head Coach

  • Oversee regular league scheduling in coordination with Program Director

  • Oversee maintenance of fields

  • Provide monthly Field Coordinator report to Board

  • Perform other tasks assigned

Commissioner

DC Way Academy is currently seeking a Commissioner. This position is responsible for overseeing club adherence to DCWA and MSYSA bylaws, league, and tournament rules. Commissioner also assists in organizing operational policies of the club and teams. Commissioner will report to the Program Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all practice fields provide safe environment for training and play

  • Notify Field Coordinator and Coaches if field is unplayable for practice or otherwise

  • Coordinate with Program Director and Administrator to develop league and tournament schedule

  • Take part in disciplinary action of player/parent/coach as appropriate to club and MSYSA bylaws

  • Coordinate registration of team rosters in leagues and tournaments in coordination with Administrator

  • Assists with finding coaches, if needed

  • Oversee operations of teams in accordance with club and MSYSA bylaws

  • Set policy regarding the operation of all travel teams, including selection process for players

  • Perform other tasks assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Previous experience as Commissioner, preferred

  • Previous experience working for a travel/recreational soccer team, preferred

DC Way Academy is currently seeking a Uniform Coordinator. This position is responsible for the logistics of dressing players and technical staff for the club. Uniform Coordinator will work with vendors and partners on clothing and equipment orders. This position will report to the Program Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Decide which shirts and clothes are worn for training, games, photo shoots and all public appearances

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners

  • Work in conjunction with suppliers to ensure products are stocked in a timely and efficient manner

  • Distribute apparel to players as needed

  • Adhere to uniform league standards while ensuring all players are dressed for the weather conditions

  • Perform other tasks assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience working with apparel provider

  • Previous experience working with a soccer team, preferred

  • Practical experience working with heat press for screening and customizing apparel, preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Equipment Manager

DC Way Academy is currently seeking an Equipment Manager. This position is responsible for the logistics and readiness of equipment used by DC Way Academy teams. This position will report to the Program Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day logistics of equipment used is training or games

  • Oversee purchasing, disbursement, and inventory of equipment

  • Develop and maintain relationship with vendors and partners

  • Meet with vendors and sponsors to learn about new products and uses for existing products

  • Be prepared to solve any equipment malfunction or failure that may arise

  • Organize and clean all items used during a game

  • Prepares periodic and year-end report of all missing and damaged items

  • Registers all new items to master inventory list

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with a soccer team, preferred

  • Ability to attend most practices and games with the team

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

TREASURER

DC Way Academy is currently seeking a Treasurer. This position will be responsible for handling all team financial activities. This position will report to Director of Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collect money owed to the team and deposit in team bank account

  • Communicate finances with team and parents

  • Implement and/or maintain the bookkeeping system and accounting processes required to provide a detailed set of records on income and expenditure of DC Way Academy

  • Be responsible for all day-to-day bookkeeping and handling of accounts payable and accounts receivable issues

  • Have custody of all funds, securities, financial records and tax documents of DC Way Academy

  • Establish an annual operating budget to present to the Board for approval

  • Publish a monthly and year-end financial statement

  • Submit an annual report of finances to the Board

  • File all reports to the appropriate government agency in a timely manner, including, but not limited to yearly income tax returns

  • Pay bills that are within the approved limits of the DC Way Academy annual operating budget

  • Maintain a bank account in DC Way Academy’s name

  • Be one of the three persons, together with the President, Vice President authorized to sign checks

  • Recommend Club fee structure to Board after receiving and reviewing individual budgets and reviewing overall financial plan for the Club.

  • Perform other tasks assigned
